My piece “Shijima” for Clarinet, Viola and Piano is going to be performed again by Keglebanetrioen at Koncertkapellet, Roskilde in Denmark on 17th September. 2024. Please join them if you are around. The word “shijima” (静寂) in Japanese conveys a deep sense of silence, a tranquil stillness where the world seems to pause. It describes not just the absence of noise, but a profound, almost sacred quiet that envelops the surroundings. This term is often used to describe environments with little or no sound, such as in nature or during the stillness of night. Composer in Residence in Tivoli Youth Guard in 2020-2021
I’m happy to announce that I’m a Composer in Residence in Tivoli Youth Guard in 2020-2021. I composed their 175years anniversary piece and the collaboration piece “Nightingale” inspired by H.C. Andersen (which was supposed to perform in March but obviously cancelled) and now I’m working on new piece. Thank you for having me there Tivoli Youth Guard and I’m very much looking forward to see them all in beautiful Tivoli Gardens after this difficult time! この度正式に発表されましたが、デンマークにありますチボリ公園に所属するチボリガードの2020-2021の委託作曲家に就任しました。チボリガードとは、少年少女吹奏楽部、鼓笛隊、鉄砲隊の三部からなる世界最古の吹奏楽団です。赤いユニフォームに、熊の毛の大きな帽子、まるでアンデルセンの御伽話から飛び出てきたような小さな兵隊さんたちと一緒に音楽を作っていけること、とても楽しみにしております。 この大変光栄な機会に心から感謝するとともに、またあの美しいチボリ公園で沢山のお客様とかわいい兵隊さんたちに会える日を楽しみにしています。
