My new Lied Yume ni Kikite, set to a poem by Takuboku Ishikawa, will be premiered by soprano Meredith Wohlgemuth @merwohlgemuth and pianist Hikaru Kanki @hikarukanki on May 16 2025, at the Richard Jacob Saal of the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover @hmtmh_offiziell in Germany.

This song is neither a love song nor a lament of tragic regret. It simply reveals fragments of the past glimpsed in the gaps of everyday life—sometimes memories of someone once beloved, sometimes of the hometown where one was born and raised. By returning to the first song after the third, I wanted to portray how these fragments of memory scatter and coexist within the spaces of present daily life.

Yume ni Kikite was commissioned by Hikaru Kanki as part of her project KOMPLEXITÄTEN – Identitäten und Neues Lied, and composed with the support of the Dorothea Erxleben Scholarship Program.
